GMADA's Additional Chief Administrator on the Fresh Round

Announcing the auction, GMADA Additional Chief Administrator (ACA) Amrinder Singh Malhi credited the strength of the authority's earlier round for prompting this next one so quickly. "The authority generated Rs 3,136 crore in revenue during the previous e-auction. Encouraged by that response, GMADA  has launched another round of e-auctions and is optimistic of securing strong investor participation and substantial revenue in the current bidding process," he said.

Sector 62 MLU Site: Relisted at a Revised Price

The headline offering this round is the 27.78-acre Mix Land Use (MLU) site in Sector 62. GMADA first put this parcel up for e-auction  in March 2026 at a reserve price of Rs 1,213.72 crore, but it drew no bidders at all. The authority has now brought it back with a marginally revised reserve price of Rs 1,214.16 crore, banking on the small price tweak and stronger market momentum to draw a better response this time.

Why This Round of the GMADA e-AuctionMatters

Launching a new round so soon after the last one is a direct response to demand. With Rs 3,136 crore already banked from the previous outing, officials are clearly betting that appetite for Mohali real estate remains strong. Re-listing the Sector 62 MLU site at a marginally revised reserve price also shows GMADA is willing to fine-tune pricing rather than leave large, strategically placed parcels unsold. For bidders, that mix of proven demand and a more carefully considered price on the marquee site makes this round one to watch closely.

How to Place a Bid in the GMADA e-Auction

  • Visit the official GMADA e-auction portal or gmada.gov.in and find the current notice for this round of 36 properties
  • Download the bid document and the detailed property list, including the reserve price for each site

  • Proof of EMD payment, as specified in the auction notice for the chosen site
  • GST registration, where applicable, for commercial, hotel or SCO bidders

Eligibility conditions and reserve price can change with every fresh GMADA e-auction update, so always cross-check the current notice on the official portal before paying any EMD.

Conclusion

With 36 properties on offer, a revised price on its most closely watched Sector 62 site and Rs 3,136 crore already generated from the last round, this GMADA e-auction looks set to be one of the more closely followed property events in Mohali this year. Whether you're after a large MLU parcel, a hotel site or a smaller SCO unit, bidding closes on August 19, 2026, so it's worth going through the official bid documents and reserve prices well before then.
